TOM YUM GOONG PRINCE IN LAHORE

Tom Yum GOONG is a popular Thai soup that features a spicy, sour, and aromatic broth with shrimp. Here are two different Tom Yum GOONG recipes that you can try:

Recipe

Ingredients:

  • 2 cups of chicken broth
  • 1 stalk of lemongrass, bruised
  • 3 kaffir lime leaves
  • 1-2 Thai chilies, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1-inch piece of galangal, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of fish sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice
  • 1 cup of shrimp, peeled and deveined
  • 1/4 cup of cilantro leaves
  • 1/4 cup of sliced mushrooms

Instructions:

  1. In a medium pot, heat the chicken broth until it boils.
  2. Add lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, Thai chilies, garlic, and galangal.
  3. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add fish sauce, lime juice, shrimp, and mushrooms.
  5. Cook until the shrimp is pink and cooked through, about 2-3 minutes.
  6. Serve hot with cilantro leaves on top.

Recipe 2: Vegetarian Tom Yum Goong

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups of vegetable broth
  • 1 stalk of lemongrass, bruised
  • 3 kaffir lime leaves
  • 1-2 Thai chilies, sliced
  • 2 garlic cloves, chopped
  • 1-inch piece of galangal, sliced
  • 1 tablespoon of soy sauce
  • 2 tablespoons of lime juice
Instructions:
  1. In a medium pot, heat the vegetable broth until it boils.
  2. Add lemongrass, kaffir lime leaves, Thai chilies, garlic, and galangal.
  3. Let the mixture simmer for 5 minutes.
  4. Add soy sauce, lime juice, carrots, mushrooms, red bell peppers, onions, and tofu.
